About Us
The Macomb Junior Golf Classics Junior Open Golf Tournaments are open to all juniors 12 to 18 years of age. These tournaments started in 1982 by 2 high school golf coaches in Macomb County, Mr. Chet Boss (Utica Ford) and Mr. Rich Terry (Utica Eisenhower and Romeo). They are the co-directors of these tournaments and look forward to providing continued competitive golf for juniors. Both directors have also been selected to the Michigan Interscholastic Golf Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame for their outstanding work as high school golf coaches, tournament directors (including summer tournaments, and high school league, district and regional directors) along with providing years of junior and adult golf clinics at local golf courses in Macomb County.
All of our tournaments have 2 age divisions: 12 to 15 years and 16 to 18 years and include both boys and girls. A separate girls division will be formed if there are 12 or more girls
We do not require or collect an up front membership fee as many other tournaments do (Top 50, Adams, Meijer, MI PGA)* and our greens fees are significantly lower. In addition we have a horn start at all tournaments (no tee times) so all golfers begin at the same time and finish within about 1/2 hour of each other. All tournaments have a check in time by 7 a.m. and a start time scheduled at 7:30 a.m. and are usually completed between 12 noon and 1:00p.m.
To register for a tournament fill out the registration form and send it along with the tournament fee to the appropriate address and you are in the tournament. Play which ever and as many tournaments as you wish.
